The Bordeaux vineyard Château de Lagorce has 69 ha of land and 43 ha of vineyards sold a few days ago to the Chinese wine trading company SCEA Degore. The purchase price is not known.

Located about 35 kilometres south-east of Bordeaux, between Garonne and Dordogne, the Súperieur estate with roots in Gallo-Roman times was owned by the Mazeau family since 1928. The wines made from Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon are usually available in stores for less than 20 Euros. Benjamin Mazeau justified the sale with the lack of a successor in the family, as his two daughters had developed professionally in a different direction.

The new owner wants to continue to supply existing customers, but to do so he wants to supply his own wine shops in China, said their spokesman Lin Lin. Therefore it was important for the buyers to acquire a vineyard with a large area of vines in order to be able to produce sufficient quantities.
