The famous Italian Brunello winery Biondi Santi has expanded its vineyards by six hectares. Tenuta Greppo, run by the Biondi Santi family, has acquired the DOCG areas from the Argentinean oil magnate Alejandro Bulgheroni. He owns several wineries in Tuscany and since 2013 also Poggio Landi in Montalcino. The vineyards, which border directly on the Tenuta Greppo vineyards, come from their ownership, reports the "Weinwirtschaft". Thus the Biondi Santi estate now includes the Tenuta Greppo in the San Polo subzone. With the purchase, the estate now has almost 32 hectares of Brunello vineyards. The purchase price is not known. Experts estimate the current market price for one hectare in prime locations at more than one million euros.

Biondo Santi has been owned since 2016 by the French luxury group Epi of the Descours family, which also includes the champagne producers Charles Heidsieck and Piper-Heidsieck.
