The renowned Court of Master Sommeliers has declared the recently organized blind tasting as part of the final examination of this year's candidates invalid. In a statement, the Board of Directors of the organisation stated that there was clear evidence that a Master Sommelier had betrayed the wines selected for examination to a group of people. His name was not mentioned. Chairman Devon Broglie MS said the person concerned would have to return the title and leave the Court of Master Sommeliers immediately.

Of 141 candidates in the final examination, only 23 passed the blind tasting test. All candidates must now take the tasting again.
