The Rheingau winery Graf von Schönborn in Hattenheim is once again facing a change: The plant manager Christian Valk will leave the company in September, the trade magazine "Weinwirtschaft" reports. Valk joined the winery in October 2014 as sales manager and took over the management of the winery in 2015. At that time, the estate was the target of public prosecution investigations due to several allegations of forgery and fraud. He told the "Weinwirtschaft" that he had succeeded in coming to terms with the past.

Under his responsibility, a new team had been installed, with which great progress had been made in the restoration of the buildings and vineyards. The business had also been "developed to its old strength". Due to differences of opinion between him and estate owner Paul Graf von Schönborn about the development of the business, he decided to change his career. His goal is currently unknown.
