The two-day wine and tourism fair "WeinTour" in Hamburg's Cruise Center Altona ended on November 12 with a record attendance of around 3,200 guests. 80 wine and tourism exhibitors presented more than 900 wines as well as tourist destinations in the regions.

Compared to previous years, the proportion of younger visitors had risen, and the length of time guests spent at the fair was also relatively long, reports the German Wine Institute as the organiser. The attractive and fully booked supporting programme, in which wines from all exhibitors were used, contributed to this. For example, the German Wine Queen Katharina Staab and the German Wine Princess Charlotte Freiberger led the visitors through the fair with "WineWalks" on topics such as "Variety of Delicacy", "Hidden Treasures" or "New Stars in the Wine Sky".

In "RegioWalks", the hiking expert and author Manuel Andrack drew the attention of the guests to the touristic advantages of the wine regions and showed the special features of various wine growing areas in a 30-minute hiking show on stage. Master sommelier Hendrik Thoma explained the harmony of wine and food in wine and cooking shows together with TV taste hunter Moritz Crone-Rawe.
