From 15 to 25 February 2018, the German Wine Institute (DWI) will be the "Official Supplier" of the Berlin International Film Festival for the eleventh time in a row. According to the DWI, international guests will enjoy exclusively wines from Germany at all official Berlinale events.
The wine selection includes over 20 white and red wines, including vintner's sparkling wines. They were selected in a covert tasting by a group of experts that included German Wine Queen Katharina Staab.
Festival director Dieter Kosslick sees the long-standing support of the German Wine Institute at the Berlin International Film Festival also as an important contribution to raising Germany's international profile as a land of pleasure: "The guests at our events are always thrilled by the great qualities of German wines."
In addition, the DWI will again cooperate with wine retailers in 2018: Visitors to the festival will receive a discount on the purchase of a Berlinale wine package with three bottles of wine at selected Berlin retailers upon presentation of their admission ticket.
