Axa Millésimes, the wine investment subsidiary of the French insurance group, has sold its Bordeaux Château Petit-Village with eleven hectares of vineyards in Pomerol to the neighbouring Château Beauregard. The purchase price for the vineyards, all estate buildings, the wine stock and the entire team is not known.
Beauregard works organically and has been owned by the Moulin family, who also own the Galleries Layfette department store chain, since 2014. They also own Château Pavillon Beauregard in Lalande de Pomerol. Axa Millésimes wanted to sell the winery, which had been part of the estate since 1989, in 2002. However, the deal for around 45 million euros fell through at the time.
