The well-known wine producer Piero Antinori from Tuscany has bought the Chilean winery Haras de Pirque in Maipo. The two estates have been working closely together since 2003. The estate's top wine, "Albis", has been produced for many years under the responsibility of the Antinoris during the cultivation and development. Nothing is known about the purchase price.

Haras de Pirque cultivates about 100 hectares of vineyards with Carménère, Cabernet Sauvignon, Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay on the edge of the mountains of the Cordillera de los Andes. Albiera Antinori explained that she wants to increase the quality of the grapes "through sustainable and organic cultivation" in the future.

The Antinori family currently owns eight wineries in Italy as well as operations in the USA, Hungary, Romania and Malta.
