After 30 years, the Taittinger Champagne House has a new oenologist and "Chef de cave": Alexandre Ponnavoy replaces Loïc Dupont, who worked for the house for three decades. Ponnavoy has been with Taittinger as Dupont's deputy since 2015.

A native of Dijon, the winemaker completed two agricultural masters degrees at the University of Burgundy and the École nationale d'ingénieurs des travaux agricoles in Clermont-Ferrand. He also obtained a master's degree in oenology in Reims. He gained professional experience at the Roederer Estate in California and as oenology consultant at the Station Oenotechnique de Champagne. During this time he advised more than 150 wine and champagne estates.
