Germany is the largest Pinot Blanc nation in the world. The area under vines of this internationally popular grape variety has tripled here since 1995 to 5,334 hectares. In the case of Pinot Gris and Pinot Noir, German wine producers rank third among the world's largest producer countries with 6,402 and 11,767 hectares respectively.

The German Wine Institute (DWI) has compiled these facts and figures from the German and international wine world in its current data collection "German Wine - Statistics 18 / 19". On a total of 30 tables and graphs, the brochure provides information on grape varieties, wine production, wine consumption or import and export as well as vineyards in international comparison. It also contains the results of the nationwide quality wine test and wine sales in Germany.

The brochure can be downloaded free of charge from the DWI website www.deutscheweine.de under the heading "Service/Downloads".
