In a few days, the election for the 79th Palatinate Wine Queen will take place in Bad Neustadt. The jury of journalists, advertising experts and representatives of the Palatinate wine industry will determine the successor to Anastasia Kronauer from Lachen-Speyerdorf. Eight candidates have applied for the office: Sophie Conrad from Grünstadt-Sausenheim, Katharina Diehl from Hainfeld, Isabell Grüber from Bad Dürkheim, Lilli Joachim from Landau-Wollmesheim, Nina Oberhofer from Edenkoben, Inga Storck from Einselthum, Daniela Töpfer from Annweiler and Alisa Weber from Niederkirchen. Pfalzwein-Werbung is pleased about the great interest, which they assess "as an indication of the attractiveness of the office".

The election on 6 October consists of two parts. After the questions from the jury of experts in the morning, the future ambassadors of the Palatinate will perform in front of several hundred visitors on the evening of the election. At the coronation event in Neustadt's Saalbau, the aim is to convince the audience with wine knowledge, quick-wittedness and charm. The event will be hosted by the two well-known presenters from Rhein-Neckar-Fernsehen, Angela Halfar and Markus Hoffmann.

RNF, the television programme for the Rhine-Neckar metropolitan region, is fed into 961,000 households in the Rhine-Neckar region via cable, can be seen throughout Europe via satellite and can also be received on the internet via "T-Home-Entertain" in about 1.3 million households. The election event in Neustadt's Saalbau is sold out.

At the events during the term of office, from the wine festival to the ministerial trip, it is important for the wine queen to be not only charming and knowledgeable, but also rhetorically skilled. That is why the wine queens are prepared for their work in seminars before and during their term of office. In the budget of Pfalzwein-Werbung, which coordinates the assignments of the majesties, the budget for travel expenses, clothing allowances and seminars amounts to almost 20,000 euros.
