New sales records were achieved at an auction of the Christie's auction house in London. For example, a case of the legendary Cheval Blanc was sold for around 191,000 euros in 1947 - the highest price this wine ever fetched at Christie's, the auction house announced. The second record was achieved by a bottle of the 62-year-old whisky "The Dalmore 'Kildermorie'", which was knocked down for just under 130,000 euros.

A bottle of privately owned Château Lafite from 1806 came under the hammer for almost 52,000 euros. A bottle of Veuve Clicquot, which was recovered from a sunken ship off the Aland Islands a few years ago, found a new owner for around 11500 Euros. Also the historical Madeira achieved very high prices: a bottle of Tarantez from the year 1705 reached the price of approximately 27000 euros. According to Christie's, the estimated prices at all these auctions were sometimes drastically outbid.
