In the Parisian two-star restaurant Maison Rostang, 150 bottles of top red wine worth around 400,000 euros were stolen during a break-in. About half of the loot is mature vintages Romanée Conti, plus many bottles of Lafite Rothschild, Latour and Petrus. According to a report from the restaurant, the burglars were able to reach the cellar by breaking a hole into a cellar wall. The procedure of the thieves had been similar to a baking burglary. After all, there are about 50,000 bottles in storage. "It took us about 40 years to build up this collection," writes the restaurant's management. So far, the police have no leads to the perpetrators.
