What does DAC mean?
In Austria, the abbreviation DAC stands for the protected designation of origin "Districtus Austriae Controllatus". In addition to the criteria for the quality wine category, wines bearing this designation also fulfil specific requirements with regard to the permitted grape varieties, alcohol and residual sugar content, vinification and ageing as well as the flavour profile.
