What fruit is served with wine?
Fruit can be served at wine tastings to neutralize the taste buds. For this purpose, fruits should be those that do not have too strong a taste of their own and rather little acidity, such as ripe apples and/or pears.
If the fruit is to be served as a dessert as part of a menu that the wine is to accompany, there are hardly any limits to the imagination - whether pome fruit, stone fruit, berries, local or exotic fruit, whether as a salad, compote, mousse, ice cream or gratin. The wine should then have enough residual sugar, because the sweetness of the wine neutralizes the sweetness of the fruits and reduces their acidity. In this respect, a dessert wine is then recommended
